Makes sense that a BBS discussion group would have different
criteria than private e-mail. After all, you have hundreds or
thousands of people who would have to wade through 50+ lines
of control stuff that is largely meaningless to them.

Oh ... the informal I guess rule here is 100 lines, so I try to
put everything important or interesting in the top 100 lines and
allow the recipe or some offtopic stuff into the remainder. But
Blue Wave and FIDO don't have a cutoff, as you say - once instead
of appending a recipe I sent along a whole recipe file of 25000
lines! Some systems truncated that right off, but as it turns out
those of our moderators got the whole message in all its glory.
I got a moderation or two that ran along the lines of "look at
the dumbass thing you did."

Turns out that my friends and I had been too effective in
packing the joint, so there remained not enough utensils to
make a cheese omelet. So. I melted the cheese on a paper
plate using the microwave (built in). Broke 3 eggs into a
cup and stirred them around with my finger with some furikake.
Poured this mess over the cheese and nuked it for 3-1/2 one
minute segments until the eggs were sort of puffed. Let cool
and ate with a plastic knife. Not too bad, actually.

My brother said he'd be right back after his dentist appointment
at 4 ... he showed up at 11 something. There's fairly little in
the house other than canned stuff. I had a 4 3/4 oz can of nuts
and some orange juice for dinner last night. Today, lunch just
was the last half 8-oz pack of Mueller's angel hair (not as bad
as I'd remembered) with a half can of Progresso white clam sauce
- this was enormously tasteless, as in "negative umami," so I
added a clove of garlic frizzled in olive oil, which improved it
somewhat, making the sauce taste like oil and garlic and a little
salt and oregano, a few rubber erasers on the side. There remains
a jar of Progresso white clam sauce (a completely different
formulation), so I'll buy some more pasta sometime and try that.
