Guess I ought to go to a state fair sometime.  Never even been to a
county one as far as that goes. But, I've been to the Dippemesse in
Frankfurt several times; (G) it's a spring and fall carnival with
vendors of all sorts of wares.  I'd skip the rides, get some cotton
candy and hit up the salt glazed pottery tent.  I've got several crocks
in my kitchen (holding tools) that I got there.  One time Steve rode the
quad loop roller coaster and came off looking rather green around the
gills.

Sounds like the Ronco 6 Star set we got thru an infomercial while we
were in HI.

No fun.  We had a cheap set that Steve bought in Monterey while waiting
for me to arrive with our kitchen set up,not that we had any good knives
in it. The best knives were a serrated small bread, serrated paring and
regular paring I got at a hardware store in Guendelwald, Switzerland for
the equal of maybe $7.50, total.  I also had a good knife I got at a
yard sale for $1 that the handle has been repaired several times.  Now
we're beginning to assemble a set of better quality cutlery but I'm
still keeping those 4.

Probably better than the Ronco stuff then.  We had to take advantage of
their free replacement program on one within about 18 months.  I think
as we replace with what we really want, we'll get rid of that set.

Should have asked about buying a set.

Junk just doesn't cut it--in more ways than one. (G)
