I know sort of what you are describing; Steve has had to do shift work
from time to time.  Now, as a first sergeant, he has troops in the
tunnel working shifts & he has to be available at some pretty odd times
for PT tests and other routine things on their time, not his "normal".
It's easier to work the odd shifts when there's no family around but
That is easier to do on a ship than a land based job. (G)

But, at least you can read.  We're sort of figuring out what we will do
in the time between pack out and flying, then the transit time to
Georgia & setting up housekeeping there.  Figure I'll just be "of the
air" for Fido for a couple of months, give or take. Steve will route my
e-mail into his lap top so I can keep up with that as we travel.

You could end up in Georgia too?  We were supposed to have left in March
of 04 but did a couple of FSTEs, one for 18 months, the other 12.  Of
we'd done a PCS in place similar to what you did, we would be leaving in
March of 07.  Oh well, we've still had more time than the average tour
to explore the islands, eat at places we'll miss once we get back to the
mainland, shop the new PX (opened last week, 40% done but we'll probably
miss the new food court's opening) and so on.
