We've had a few critters on that caliber, both dogs and cats.  Our
little Bichon thought she was the toughest thing on 4 paws and a
ferocious guard dog--until my dad would sit down.  Less than a split
second later, PomPom would be in his lap.

Yes, but the skunk isn't as painful an encounter.  Still, you would
think a dog (or cat) would learn after the first time but some never do.

Around here it has to be a GA gator; the ones from FL, specifically
Jacksonville, are not popular, especially with bulldogs. (G)

I know; I've had to do a number of emergency crop harvests even in
August when I was growing up.

I've no idea.  I harvested pumpkin from a can earlier today. (G)  Much
less fuss and bother but we did figure out a way to get a pumpkin peeled
easily--with a pressure cooker. Peels the skin, cooks the pumpkin & gets
it set up for canning or freezing in no time flat.
