My sister saw his father hit one that was rising at a tremendous
rate when it cleared the top of the screen over the deep part of
the Green Monster. Rumor had it that one made it to the turnpike.
I was there at the game as well, but all I could tell is that it
was gone. Now old Bobby did it the honest way, with whiskey, not
steroids or pep pills.

 HN> off....well the Luthier's convention  starts Wednesday and I have
 HN> meetings all day Monday...and Tuesday is get  ready for the convention
 HN> day.....yeah, I'm busy too!

Have fun. If I'd been able to get a decent fare I might have liked
to check out your luthier buddies for a day or two.

1 kg beef shank meat
1 l Chianti
15 black peppercorns
salt
5 garlic cloves
6 sl tuscan bread
bouquet garni of sage and rosemary

Cube the meat 1". Put in a big pot with the unpeeled
garlic, salt, pepper, and bouquet garni. Cover with
the wine and bake at moderate heat until the meat is
extremely tender. Toast the bread, pour the stew over,
and serve immediately.

It is said that this was the preferred food of
construction workers in Rome, long ago.
