When I was in the Army, I knew of several fellow soldiers that couldn't
make it home for Thanksgiving but could make it home for Christmas.
They would always hold out for a huge Christmas dinner.  I never went
home during that time; I was stationed out in Oklahoma and Texas and
couldn't afford to fly back to Nevada.  But I was lucky and had a
friend's mom cook and /FedEx/ me a turkey one year!

Needless to say, the party was in my barracks room.  I had suddenly
become the most popular guy in the battery (in US Army field artillery,
we don't have companies, we have batteries for the unit designation).
It was worth sharing that 22 pound bird.  My fridge wasn't big enough to
hold it!

In continuing of the recipe thread from my last message, here is a pizza
I would eat...and it has ground turkey in it (which my wife and I eat a
lot of-we rarely eat red meat these days):

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

      Title: Homemade Low-Fat Pizza
 Categories: Main dish, Low-fat, Cheese, Turkey, Pizza
      Yield: 8 Servings

           --Crust
      1 pk Dry yeast
      1 c  Warm water
      1 ts Sugar (NOT Sweet'N Low!)
  2 1/2 c  Flour
      1 ts Salt, lite (optional)
           --Basic Sauce
      1 cn Spaghetti Sauce,26oz/fatfree
      1 cn Tomato paste 6 oz.
    1/2 lb Ground turkey,cooked,drained
    1/2 ts Garlic powder
    1/2 ts Dried basil
    1/4 ts Dried oregano
    1/2 ts Dried thyme
           --Toppings
      1 cn Mushroom stems & pcs. 8 oz.
    1/4 c  Onion, chopped
    1/4 c  Green pepper, chopped
  1 1/2 c  Mozzarella cheese, non-fat
    1/4 c  Parmesan Cheese, fat-free

  Crust:  Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup warm water, add sugar and let stand
  10 minutes. Add remaining water, flour, and salt and beat very well
  until dough is completely smooth. Dough will be sticky but no
  kneading is required. Place dough in a bowl sprayed with a non-fat
  cooking spray. Cover and let rise until doubled, about 1 hour. Divide
  dough in half and let stand 10 minutes. Dough will be very elastic.
  Roll out into two 8 inch circles.

  To top: Place crust dough on a cookie sheet that has been sprayed
  with a non-fat cooking spray. Spoon sauce mixture on top of the two
  crusts. Top with any combination of the above choices.
