Ärende: Thanksgiving

-> It's a bit easier travel leaving Thanksgiving day and returning
-> Saturday.  Heard that I-95 was a parking lot on Sunday! We had some slow
-> traffic on both I-75 and 301 because of the Florida/Florida State
-> football game on Saturday but we were moving (tho slowly).

Yup sounds like a good reason to stay off the roads!

-> Military brats generally do.  Once I went to college, then got married,

I like where I ended up, there are few 
places better than here (in my opinion 
at least) and no matter where I go, I'm 
happy to see Mt Rainier and know I'm 
home again!

We had a nice quiet day, it was wonderful!

-> We used to go down to my grandparents in central NJ the night before
-> Thanksgiving and watch it the next morning.  After my grandmother had a
-> stroke in 67 (grandfather had passed away in 58), we'd go down on
-> Thanksgiving day.  I remember one time pulling in and my aunt (who lived
-> there) telling us to hurry & get inside so we could see Santa Claus.  Of
-> course she was talking more to my younger siblings; at that time, I was
-> years past any sort of belief in him.  Even after the parade was over,
-> it was still a good hour or two until dinner. Long time to go when we'd
-> had breakfast early (probably 7:30) so we could get on the road for the
-> 3 1/2-4 hour trip--and no snacking allowed.

For Anne's it's a tradition thing too...
.it kicked off the Christmas Season for
 most of NYC and Long Island.
