Pretty much my point.

It is in keeping with my macabre and pessimistic sides that I keep
a pen handy whenever I fly - usually I'm in the first half-dozen
rows and would be in a position to do something in the unlikely
event of an unlikely event - a pen being about the sharpest thing
allowable by the security guards and possibly being enough to
reduce the capacities of an evildoer before I'm incapacitated myself.

Go to Flyertalk.com and do a search in the Travel Safety and
Security Forum for details. I'm doubting that even a news reporter
could be dumb enough to reveal him/herself in flight, where there
would be a danger of trigger-happy air marshals on board. "I'm Jane
Dope, reporting from high above Altoona, Pennsylvania, where I've
just smuggled three sticks of dynamite and a Swiss Army knife aboard
US Air flight 44, and ..." pow, pow, pow, pow!

Here is the latest thread on the subject on FT - it doesn't
describe an attempt by news crews (which can be found using
the search function on that board) but rather by government
agents checking up on TSA effectiveness:

Luis Caseiro's crispy branzino
cat: fish, main
servings: 1

6 oz fillet of sea bass
1/2 lb yams
1 Tb grated ginger
4 oz butter
1 c heavy cream
1/4 c dry white wine
3 star anise pods
1/4 c diced onion
1/4 c fish stock
1 Tb olive oil
1/2 c arugula

Crispy bronzini [sic] with gingered yams and arugula in
star anise sauce

Boil yams; peel and puree. Over low heat, combine puree
with ginger, butter, and 1/2 c cream. Set aside. [M's
note: use a bit less butter or omit cream]

Combine wine, star anise, onion, and stock and reduce
by half over medium heat. Blend in blender and strain.

Halve the fish fillet. Season. Sear both pieces in olive
oil, skin side down, for 3 min; then flip and cook 3 min
more.

Reheat yam puree and adjust consistency with heavy cream.

Put yam puree in center of a plate. Cover with arugula.
Then arrange branzino pieces on top. Drizzle sauce around.
