You know, I think those TV "Redneck" comics are beginning to change the
meaning of the word 'redneck.'   It used to mean an outspoken bigot, and
was pretty much derogatory.

American Heritage Dictionary:  red·neck 
n. Offensive Slang.  A white person regarded as having a provincial,
conservative, often bigoted attitude.

But lately I've noticed it being used not as a pejorative, but to indicate
a easy going, humorous, beer drinking kind of guy.   Those comics on TV of
course have no sign of bigotry in their monologue, and so the meaning of
redneck seems to be changing just from their efforts.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06
 
      Title: Quick, Southern Style Red Beans and Rice
 Categories: Beans, Vegetable
      Yield: 6 Servings
 
      6 ea Slices bacon
      1 ea Garlic clove
      1 c  Rice, raw
      1 ts Salt
      2 c  Kidney beans
      2 ea Onions
      1 c  Beef broth
      1 ts Thyme
      1 ea Bell pepper
 
  Cut bacon into 1 inch pieces.  Cut Onions into 1/2 inch wedges. Mince
  Garlic Clove.  Dice bell Pepper.  Drain Beans. Cook bacon in 10 inch
  skillet over medium heat until browned but not Crisp, about 5 minutes.
  Remove bacon from skillet; drain off all but a few tablespoons
  drippings.
  
  Add Onion and Garlic to skillet; cook until onion is tender but not
  brown, about 5 minutes. Add enough Water to beef broth to make 2 1/2
  cups. Add to skillet and bring to a boil.
  
  Stir in rice, bacon, thyme and Salt. Cover tightly and simmer 15
  minutes. Add Green Pepper, cover and continue cooking 5 minutes.
  Remove from heat. Stir in Beans.  Let stand covered until all liquid
  s absorbed, about 5 minutes.
