Ah but that's the beauty of it. Sticks out only about 3 inches from the wall.
It's a space saver item. We wanted more shelving but didnt want something
that would later detract from the ability to store more than our one car in
there. We'd flip it out for workspace then stow it back down when not in use.

Had we not had an area without shelves already though, it would not have worked
well.

RH> Ack. You get to keep it.
RH>
-> would be as well) but not suitable I think for you. Today is actually a
RH> cool
-> spell (88F) but we are most of the time near 100F and heat index 10F
RH> higher
-> would be my assessment. SEasonal for here. Holding at pretty much what

RH> 88F is about the max of my tolerance for heat. Even so I wouldn't goo
RH> much.

It's almost chilly to us just now but only because we are acclimated to higher
temps at this season. We are at the time where 115F is 'hot' but 100F is
'quite reasonable'. It always takes us 2 weeks each year to adapt as the heat
increases to get there though and i would suffer if we hit 88F in winter since
it's normally 30-40F about then.

RH> shakes his
->
-> head like a dog and sweat flys about? Thats what you want.

RH> If you say so.

Grin, yes. It's what you'd need to stay cool feeling. Probably wouldnt work
enough for you though. I suspect 88F for you is 2 bottle water weather,
perhaps close to 3?

-> Ohh! Nasty cold! Naw, actually we get rather cold here too. Can be

RH> Nah - normal cold. Nasty cold is anything under 12F.

Been there. Had to ride my bicycle into work in such more than once. Not fun.
Jim Weller is probably laughing though at that. Guy's used to insane -40's
there. I've seen -5F here once but once the sun came up, it rapidly shifted
to 20F. We do get major cold spells here at the waterfront, but they do not
last long. Normal winter temp is just a hair over freezing water and tends to
hit about 40F by noonish. Enough that the ground doesnt freeze except at the
topmost layer then warms up with the sun each day.

-> RH> Pork loin yes. Tenderloin can be $6 or $7/pound.
->
-> I am not sure i know what the real difference is there? Pork Loin is
RH> all I see
-> here on the labels. Oh, and i think 'beef tenderloin' which is
RH> astronomical so
-> if 'tenderloin' is beef, I was talking the pork version.

RH> Loin and tenderloin are two different things. The tenderloin is almos
RH> round and runs expensive. Loin is more or less pork chops before they'
RH> "chopped".

Ok. Loin is what we have here. Not sure we have the other at all except I
think I've seen a frozen beef thing that was 'round' (pretty sure it was beef
but not positive) and 22$ and upwards a lb. Saw them later in the 'green meat
bin' because no one wanted to pay that price.

RH> That's a pity. Bloomfield lost its old fish market too, due to rent a
RH> taxes.

Probably same for the Norfolk place I used to go to. I imagine there are
places that I just didnt discover. Now with my fish eating habits so well
established, we will look harder.

-> after they've been here a bit, they start to realize what a gem they
RH> have and
-> if they get smart on local shopping, that they can manage quite well
RH> with a
-> little adaption in eating habits.

RH> Adventurous types probably do quite nicely. Actually, get spoiled rott
RH> probably more like it!

Very much so. New neighbor, Susan, got taken out today by Elise. Susan was a
little suprized to not use a car and to bring the kids with backpacks but she
adapted well. Afterwards, Elise took her to the commisary with 'our' car
(Elise and i share my car since I'm seldom here to use it and walk to work).
Anyways, Susan had fun, the kids had fun (she has 2, age 11 and 14ish). Susan
has lived in Europe and Africa, so is no newbie to adaption. Got here about 3
days ago.

Susan's reason for the Tonoo trip was the kids just got here from Africa and
they want 'comfort food' to feel a bit homey just now. That means peanuts,
raw and in the shell. Got'em at Tonoo.

RH> enough for a
->
-> fast swag though.

RH> Faster than I can manage over any distance.

Ah my friend, sorry for that. You get along well enough though were you are and
at your own pace.

RH> People do use cabs here to get home from grocery stores, if they don't
RH> a car. They cost a lot more though.

540 yen is about 5$ and if uyou do it as a weekly trip and do not need a car
the rest of the time, actually is cheaper than auto insurance much less car
ownership other things. Sometimes, it makes sense to not have one.
                                       xxcarol
