 If I am going to be dining alone, with nobody to talk to, I would just
 as soon be at home, where I can read at the table and enjoy my own
 choice of music. I dine out alone when I have to, like when I am
 travelling. Sometimes I do keep a notepad, in hopes of writing an
 entertaining review for this bunch, but it never got me better
 service that I noticed. The local food reviewer makes the point that
 she doesn't want to be recognized, because she wants to report on what
 the average diner would experience. She gets a weekly column with a
 picture byline, but her "picture" has most of her face coyly covered
 by an upraised Menu, with just her eyes and above showing. I thought it
 was cute!

 Maybe I don't understand the criteria for the item in question. I
 cannot give you specifics, just remembered wondering why we walked
 for miles to this particular place, crowded and noisy, for a sandwich!

 OK, you win on this one, they must be! There is a non-Yellow section of
 business listings and they did show up there. I do know that some locally-
 renowned Jewish Deli of a name I don't remember did close up in the last
 year, to great moans from some of the local news people bemoaning some
 specialties they would never find again. It was mildly amusing to me, as
 I had never heard of the place before it closed!

 Could be! But they do, in fact, have a phone number. They also don't
 participate in the Taste of Buffalo foodfest; I checked for recipes
 in the associated cookbook.

 Pretty tasty, as long as you are not on a salt-limited diet.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.05

      Title: Sweet and Sour Red Cabbage with Caraway
 Categories: Vegetables
      Yield: 8 Servings

      2    Heads red cabbage, shredded
      2    Whole Spanish onions, sliced
           -thin
      6 sl Bacon, chopped
      1 c  Apple cider
    1/2 c  Cider vinegar
    1/2    Stick butter (1/8 lb.)
    1/4 c  White wine
      2 t  Kummelweck (1/2 salt, 1/2
           -caraway seed)
      4 T  Brown sugar

  Saute bacon, butter, onion until tender. Add cabbage and rest of
  ingredients, cover and simmer 15 minutes. Add fresh ground pepper to
  taste and serve.

  Suggested wine: Bully Hill
  Serving Ideas: Serve with Bratwurst or a roasted fresh ham.
