It's both sad and amazing the way some folks pay zip attention to what 
comes in to their home at their invitation. I have a friend, who, after 
I warned him of the hazards of downloading all that "free" stuff from 
places like Limewire still insists on taking with both hands and then 
hollering for help when he gets in a mess.

In self-defence, since he is a computer illiterate, I have bought a gift 
certificate for Lawrence Adult Education Centre for a course in computer 
operation and manipulation. That will be his Xmas present from me.

Then there are the nanny-ware controlled e-mail sites which will _NOT_ 
allow sending or receiving of .exe files. Gmail and MSN come to mind 
(probably AOL, too) right off. I told a friend over yesterday's bacon 
and eggs that I would send him a nice little freeware utility called 
Crap Cleaner to clean up his internet temp files, cookies, registry 
entries, etc. And after four different tries I finally zipped the .exe 
so that the file then had an extension of .zip and it flew right to his 
e-mail box. Go figger.

I realise it would have been simpler to send him the URL and let him 
download the program on his own. But, by that point it had become a 
challenge. Now he will be taking me to Corky's on a Monday night real 
soon for the AYCE ribs.  Bv)=

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06
 
      Title: Peach Upside-Down Cake
 Categories: Desserts, Cakes, Fruits
      Yield: 12 servings
 
    3/4 c  Softened butter
    1/2 c  Firmly packed brown sugar
      1 lg Can (1 lb 13 oz) sliced
           -peaches; drained, reserving
    1/2 c  Syrup
      2 c  All-purpose flour
  2 1/2 ts Baking powder
    1/4 ts Salt
      1 c  Sugar
      3    Eggs
    1/2 c  Evaporated milk
 
  This recipe uses canned peaches, which means you can enjoy
  this memorable dessert even when fresh peaches are not in
  season. Served warm, with or without a dollop of sweetened
  whipped cream, it's delicious.
  
  Preheat oven to 350°F.
  
  Coat the bottom and sides of a 10-inch round baking dish or
  cast iron skillet with 3 tablespoons of the butter. Sprinkle
  evenly with the brown sugar. Arrange the peach slices in a
  single layer, covering the bottom of the pan. If you're
  feeling artistic, arrange them in a nice pattern. Set aside.
  
  Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside.
  
  With an electric mixer, cream the remaining butter with the
  sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time,
  beating well after each addition. Add the milk and reserved
  1/2 cup peach syrup. With mixer running at low speed,
  gradually add the flour mixture to the batter, combining
  well.
  
  Pour the batter evenly over the peaches. Bake for 45 minutes,
  testing for doneness with a toothpick in center. Cool in pan
  on rack for 20 minutes (25 minutes if using a cast iron
  skillet). Loosen the edges with a thin knife, and invert on
  a serving plate.
