And I don't recall them when we lived in North Carolina.  We left there
in 83.

I've used it from time to time.  We got some really bitter ones some
years ago so it took Steve a long time before he'd let me buy it again.
I did so in Az--made some eggplant parmagian (my own varient, no special
recipe) that was really good.

I've had different ones in HI and enjoyed them.  Some of them do look
like bittermelon tho so you have to watch out for them.

I'll keep that in mind.  We did find another place on Friday nights that
does bulk bin sales--and it's right near a quilt shop! (G)
