   When our son Bryan was in Baghdad, he did have some difficulty
   getting a balanced diet of vegetarian friendly food from the hot food
   lines.  He did mention that the vegetarian MREs were ok -- but not
   always available.

    The sad thing is that I used to like Olive Garden.  Back when I was
   working full time, it was a place that was often used for office
   luncheons.   They had good bread sticks, salads and a very good soup.
   After I retired, Gail and I went there and had a not so good meal.  I
   convinced her to give it one more try -- and then even I had to admit
   that they were not what I remembered.  The soup was watery, with
   sausage crumbs instead of sausage pieces.  The pasta sauce was either
   a thick paste (alfredo) or thin and watery.  A chicken dish was just
   as displeasing.   I think that was more than five years ago and we
   have not even thought of going back there.


MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.05
 
      Title: Cajun Crab Soup
 Categories: Starters, Soup, Cajun, Shellfish
      Yield: 6 Servings
 
MMMMM------------------------INGREDIENTS-----------------------------
     12    Crabs
    1/4 lb Butter
      2    Ribs celery , chopped
      1 lg Onion, minced
      8 sl Lemon, slices
      1    Egg, hard boiled, chopped
           -fine
      6 tb Sherry
           Salt and pepper to taste
  1 1/2 tb Flour
      1 cn Tomatoes (#2 can)
      3    Sprig thyme
      4    Sprig parsley, minced
  1 1/2 ts Paprika
 
  Clean and halve crabs. Melt butter and add flour, mixing constantly
  until golden brown. Add onions and let simmer for 5 minutes. Add
  crabs and then pour in 3 cups of HOT water. Simmer for 5 minutes. Mix
  in tomatoes, celery, thyme, parsley, and 6 cups HOT water. Let boil
  vigorously about 1/2 hour. Add sherry, lemon, hard boiled egg,
  paprika, salt and pepper. (if soup becomes too thick, pour in hot
  water until desired consistency is reached) Let simmer for 1/2 hour.
  Serves six
