True.  Navy has not so much of a PT program.  We tend to get a workout though
just like you say, walking around on a ship <g>.  On an average day, I will
traverse at least 24 stories of ladders.  Thats 8 just to get onboard, down to
berthing, and up to my office.  16 to eat lunch, 8 more to get changed and go
home.  Probably add another 16 so I can take a pee-break <g> to make it 40.

I did zone inspection for one of the other Masterchief's the day we pulled back
in.  It was engineering spaces at the aft end.  To get to them, you have to
climb down these vertical ladders (real adders, straight up and down) 6
stories then back up, over to the next drop down, and another 6 down then 6
up.  I had 5 spaces to check on, not interconnecting down below so had to come
all the way up each time.  Bob's knees were bothering hm so I did his
inspection for him.

So like, 12x5=60 stories.  Yeah, I was a little tired at the end <g>.  The
difference though is I am used tot hat sort of thing.  I wouldnt be suprised
if many of the others here just couldnt make it or at the least, would be very
sore the next day.  Now, ask me to go running, and I aint so good at that!

Definately.  Vertical dimensions.  I get to go climbing Friday (leave ends) if
the weather is good.  Delayed some antenna maintenance and we are pretty much
on a stand-down sort of thing.  I need to help out my PO3 as the PO1 who has
duty with us is scared of heights, so I told him not to worry and I'd go up. 
Aft mast VHF whips.  I'll be about 100ft up and 30ft out on an upper yardarm
for around 2 hours.
