The company where I work does some pretty cool things for its employees. 
Michael has been benefactor of some of these treats, but today was our
departmental holiday lunch, employees only.  We were told we were leaving
at 11:00am for Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, a fancy place in itself.  At 11:00,
a Humvee limousine shows up (!!!!) and we all pile inside.  Champagne was
chilling.  We went to Ruth’s Chris, where we had a private room.

We ordered appetizers—crab cakes (all meat, but for some reason they tasted
a bit different.  I’m sure they were fine, but nothing spectacular), shrimp
(large, cold peeled and deveined.  They were good, but as expected), and
smoked salmon with capers and chopped egg with crostini and mixed greens
(probably my favorite of the three).

Time for the mains.  Out of the twelve of us, ten had cow in some form or
another, the guy next to me had salmon, and I had a lobster tail,
surprisingly one of the least expensive menu items.  Bottles of red and
white were ordered (they actually called the owner of the company for
recommendations—(I would have called Michael but he was in flight) but I
don’t remember the names as I was neither ordering or paying the bill.

I enjoyed the Caesar salad, just enough dressing and interesting croutons. 
Lobster tail was quite good—grilled and served with drawn butter, I also
requested lemon.  The garlic mashed potatoes was a big surprise—they were
INSTANT!!  You’d think a place like Ruth’s Chris would use real potatoes. 
Maybe because it was lunch…..

Finished with crème brulee (nice) and coffee—French press left on the
table.
We had a gift exchange and piled back into the limo four hours later.  And
then I got the rest of the afternoon off….
