======================
Hi Ruth,

-> heavy one. OTOH, I started a Z-Pak of antibiotics yesterday when I
-> realised the crud had gone into the chest and had morphed(?) into
-> bronchitis. I'd rather go to the dentist; it may hurt for a couple of
-> days after but I can deal with it. This will have me coughing for
-> several weeks before the last is out of the lungs. But, at least I'm
-> still breathing. (G)

 RH> Yuck. The dental pain thing is still going strong. I had my mouth
 RH> open all the way for way too long, combined with sinus problems, and
 RH> WHAM.

My sympathies. I've had to have my mouth open extra wide several times
in the last few trips to the dentist and it is no fun. But, a bit of
NSAIDs, rest, and no secondary sinus problems put me back up a couple of
days later. I"ve got to find a new dentist but not even going to really
think about it until this passes.

-> I was looking for the yardage to go with the Tuscan Sun block kits I'd
-> bought last summer. Sales gal said they had it but it was intermingled
-> with the rest of their quilting fabrics and I just wasn't picking it
-> out. Sort of makes me wonder if they did have it or not.

 RH> Oho - they wanted you to play hide and seek.

And I didn't want to play. Found a JoAnn's Fabrics last night on our
way to an Indian restaurant so stopped on the way back. Sales gal
admitted she knew that their store got one or two of the fabrics but not
all of them. So, it's 1) make the quilt as is, no bigger 2) see if
there's a web site listed with the instructions so I can order yardage
or 3) try to find yardage another way, probably thru the internet. As
of now, the first option will probably be the most likely scenario.
But, the Indian place was very good; we will be back. We got there
around 6:30 and only 2 or 3 other tables were in use (of maybe 16); when
we left, it was at least half full with more people coming in as we were
leaving. Good eating and a reasonable price; with the tax & tip, we
spent just a bit over $26.00.

-> Cold is really bad--fry it and at least it's semi edible. It'll put out
-> enough fat to lubricate eggs.

 RH> Hrmmm - another non-favorite, fried eggs.

I can eat those but prefer them in other forms.

->  RH> I'll eat yours then.  I'll trade you my mom's nasty meatloaf.  I

-> My mom made a so-so one; nothing gourmet by any means. The best one I
-> made recently was in HI, using up odds and ends of ground beef, ground
-> turkey and turkey sausage--about 60% sausage. Now that one had some
-> flavor!

 RH> I'll bet! As opposed to Mom's , made from beef, oatmeal and V8. Gak.

Couldn't make end meet? (G)

-> RH> Hmmm - as bad as bologna?

-> Depends on the fish; it's best made with really fresh, prime fish but
-> if it's made with not so prime or fresh fish..............

 RH> Gefilte fisch?

Oy veh! Brings back memories of what one of my co workers at a Jewish
camp called it, not really repeatable in a family echo. BTW, Steve told
me that he came out with "oy veh" after a hard run in PT a few weeks ago
and got some strange looks from some of his co workers. They know where
he stands but he looks very Middle Eastern. One of his co workers is
Cnservative Jewish but didn't raise an eyebrow when he heard Steve.

-> RH> running gag, but he perpetrated the rest on himself.

-> I can imagine. Several years ago when we were in AZ, our youth group
-> from church had a fund raiser where they secretly "flamingo-ed" a yard
-> at night. The head bird had a cannister with instructions on how they
-> would be removed, how to designate a recipient and how to make a
-> donation to the youth group for insurance that you wouldn't be hit
-> again.

 RH> How did they know who to blackmail? Or pinkmail?

The cannister around the neck of the head bird was supposed to hold
those instructions. We got hit just before Steve went to Korea so we
got pictures of it--pink flamingoes in southeastern AZ.

-> RH> I killed a microplane once - used it to death. We used to have a
-> RH> kitchen store near here, but they went belly up. The restaurant
-> RH> supply outlets still have them though.
 RH> ->
-> We've not yet found a restaurant supply place here; guess I'll have to
-> check the 'net phone book as we don't have one (using cell phones only).

 RH> That's a wrinkle to cutting the cord I've never seen before. No phone
 RH> books.

We're not customers of a phone company to provide one; not been here
long enough to get the competitor's books. Perfectly logical.
