It was due to the northwest bands (the strongest ones)  As it traveled
north the wind went down into the Ohio valley and as it hit the higher
elevation across the river known as Southern Indiana the wind had an
intensifying effect... and folded back down on top of us. 

We had no tornadoes... no organized rotation... just winds that changed
direction very rapidly... and it was like nothing I had ever seen before in
my life.  I got hit in the head by a plastic flowerpot... and then seen
what appeared to be a UFO that turned out to be a trampoline.

There was no tornadoes just chaotic winds like we have never seen before...
the sustained rating actually registered it as a cat-1 hurricane here...
INLAND.  The wierd thing is we had sun through a lot of it... and
absolutely no rain.  It was like nothing I've ever witnessed in my life...
and the noise was nothing like a tornado... it was just a sustained howling
noise that went on and on for about six hours... like a banshee.

I don't think they have ever seen anything like this to predict anything
like this.
