Cute kid, maybe?  (G)  I can think of lots of reasons for having a
preference for a particular "partner".  I've found that there are some
people that I can work ensemble with about as naturally as breathing...
almost like we breathe together, even without extensive rehearsal time.
Those are the ones I'd like to work with, given the chance, for example.
Similarly, if it's someone I've worked with lots of times, I'd know what
to expect, so might seek out.  Knowing that someone has a similar style
of approaching music, or particular repertoire, could also be reason(s).

That could be possible, too...  And/or the conversations are such as to
bring out the somewhat off-topical information...  (G)  Besides, I still
think there's a connection between food and music... ;)
