I forgot to close this one up. We made it to one of the events (a later one
I think). Cash had a ball! They had various 'training' events where your
dog got to so through a sort of game like scenario. Cash really liked the
one with the 'climb the stairs, run the walkway, jump through the low hoop,
get a kibble at the end'.

It was hilarous as they had several sized ones of that from little bitty dogs
to big mastiffs. Cash couldnt make the mastiff loop but it was high enough
he squiggled under it. He tried the beagle run and got stuck in the loop
then he tried the 'large dog' one and ended up dangling with his butt in the
air and his legs about 3 inches short of the floor. (He just looked at us
sorta laughing 'help me outa this one Ma?').

But the beagle run was the funniest. He got his head through fine but his
shoulders wouldnt fit. He seemed to know this and had slowed down and poked
his head in. It was too low to crawl under, and too high to jump over. So
he tucked his head in a few times, then backed off puzzled, then noticed the
sides had a spot he might be able to manage. Looked like a little mountain
climber with one back foot on the ring bottom, one forefoot opposite side on
the brace against the wall and just sorta wriggled over it. Even the trainer
was in stitches when he got to the other end for his treat.

They had foods out suitable for dogs and people and the prices were not too
bad. I got Cash and me a 12 pack of chicken 'nuggets' (ground chicken,
minimal spices, egg, light breading, baked, not bad or dry and Cash
loved'em while i found them ok enough).

He sniffed lots of butts and got sniffed in turn. He barked like a puppy
sometimes and bugle-bayed like a hunting dog at others. He met 'Buddy the
bulldog' (english bulldog, big things) who's an elderly gentleman and rested
under a tree with him for a bit then was enticed away by 'Tiki' (Shi Tszu or
something like that).

Minor digression on Tiki. She's a sweet little yippie sort as you'd expect.
Now, I would not have expected her to approach something as big as Cash but
she ran right up and started yipping, then ran off, loooked back, ran back to
him yipped, then looked back til Cash got the point that she wanted to be
chased. Owner slightly worried had seen Cash communing quietly with Buddy
and came over to explain. They'd recently lost a dog who looked alot like
Cash. By then, Cash came running back being chased by Tiki... ;-)

Ever seen one of those little dogs running at flat out max speed with hair
flopping and flying? It's great!

Once they got tired, they came back to us with the gentleman Buddy who
introduced herself with mutual sniffs to what area interests dogs most.

Cash once home became crash on the sofa.

;-) Life is good, especially when even your friends butts smell good!
               xxcarol
