If evening shift, the Shipps and I could handle that, as
getting to bed at 3 in the morning would be about par for
the course. Other, saner echo people I don't know about.

farecompare.com claims that the best fare from Boston is $117, but
that is only good through March. After that it jumps to $164. From
other cities the prices are considerably higher. Of course, better
fares may be loaded later on.

Pulut Durian (Glutinous/Sticky Rice With Durian)

This variation is very popular amongst Kedahan (Kedah is a
northern state on the West Coast of Peninsular Malaysia).

Steam glutinous rice as per original recipe but add a little
coconut milk if one likes it to be a little rich in taste.

Prepare separately a bowl of coconut milk with a dash of salt.
Stir to dissolve the salt. About 500ml of coconut milk should
be sufficient for 4 servings of pulut rice. The coconut milk
serves as gravy for the rice when serving. The idea is to pour
sufficient coconut milk on the rice to make it damp but don't
drown the rice! Eat the rice with freshly cut durian. The trick
is to eat with the hand - Malaysian style - (make sure
it is clean!) so that one can peel the meat from the seed.

For variety, one may also add freshly cut slices of sweet
mango for choice of `dishes'. This is one of Thailand's great
favourites.
