I have found some quite nice single malts
in the lower price ranges, but it's hit or miss
whether they will strike your fancy or not.
Of course that's the same risk you take when
you pay more I suppose! (grin)

I have not had any glenlivit in years, last time
I had it I didn't care for it much anymore. 
Perhaps it's time to give it a try again.
