I was never very allergic to beasts :)  Lucky for me too.. Our house was always
crawling with critters.. dogs, cats, gerbils, lizards whatever.. I remember my
sister's hermit crab disappeared once and was discovered on the ceiling days
later.. eek..That was pretty disgusting (g). But you have to figure with 6 kids
in the family that pretty much would be the case.. :)

Or eat a lot of potatoes :)

We do actually eat quite a lot of them.  Ron's a white boy through and
through..(evil grin).. and though he does love pasta and rice, greasy fried
potatoes must be his favorite food :) Cholesterol aside that is (g) So once and
awhile I give in to the doc and make oven baked fries:

===Taragon potatoes===
preheat oven to 350F
3 large yukon potatoes (about 2-3 lbs.) Olive oil
1 large onion sliced
2 lbs carot, peeled, halved lengthwise then halved Taragon
salt
pepper
garlic salt

Peel potatoes and halve them. Slice the halves into thin strips.  Cut across
the halves to cut the strips in half.  Repeat with the other halves. Spread the
halves in a 13X9 cookie sheet.  Slice the onion in thick slices and spread over
the potatoes.  Add the carrots, which you have scraped or peeled, haved
lengthwise and then halved.  Drisle Olive a generous amount of olive oil over
the vegetables (I can't tell you how much.. I would guess 3-4 tablespoons is
not too much.  I don't measure, but pour from the can lightly). Then sprinkle
taragon leaves over the vegatales and shake a bit of salt, pepper and garlic
salt over it.
Toss the vegtables to mix the spices with the oil.  Place in the oven and bake
for 25-30 minutes or until the vegetables are tender.

Or grow your own :)  Which is what I like to do the best :)  This year I didn't
get that many.. not sure why.. I guess we had a weird summer.. late spring or
something?  I dunno, I give up. I remember cursing at it often enough.  Maybe
this year will be better..I'm going to start a lot of stuff inside early,
that's for sure.  I always say that though haha

Yep :) I remember my reaction to having pesto in Louisville once at the
"Spaghetti Factory" (I figured "this ought to be good (lol)") and they served
it .. to my dismay, it was pesto... with cream sauce.. very disconcerting when
you are used to basil pesto consisting of basil/garlic/olive oil/pignoli nuts
:(
