  What is a Toasted Western ... now that is interesting, as in
Ontario, I was introduced to this, and yet they may well serve
it as something else, as I have found out during my travels
in this world.

  I make my own toasted westerns at home, as I don't see them
too often anymore, and it is probably something to do with
cooking on the stove top with a frying pan.

  To make a good one to share with the loved one...or other
members of the family or friends... I usually do it with 2 eggs
amd a cup of milk in a mixing bowl.    To the bowl I add bacon
pieces already fried or nuked in the microwave.   Usually a
few strips of bacon will do ....or ham...or whatever you want
...to that I had some pre-fired or nuked  onion...usually the
green onion cut...like that better...but you can use anything
you want.    After you get it all mixed ....and it looks
great  get the frying pan out... and get it up to heat.

Pour the mix into the fry pan....and let it cook .... get two 
pieces of bread out and toast them...or whatever shade you
want <g>  ....  

The mixture in the pan might be burning....so to stop it from 
being burnt.... flip it all over.....this is a chore unless
you have one of those neat frying pans that turn upside down
like we have....  I used to split it down the middle and turn
over each half.....    after that turn down the heat.... and
get a plate and the toast  < maybe done> and scoop out some
of the mixture and put it on the toast...and you have a toasted
western.

Canadians use Ketchup on the western...eh ... as well maybe a
side order of frys....but it is a morning breakfast thing.

When , as I had mentioned I was in the USA...somewhere between
Michigan and Indiana..I stopped in at Dennys and as for the
toasted western...and they hadn't a clue...so after I explained
it...they brought me their closest to it...a folded omlet
which looked like a white-yellow dodah with green onions
siting ontop...not embedded as I get it...with the egg omlet
floded around it ....eeech!    Never been back....

Where this Toasted Western idea came from ..is beyond me.....
but I still enjoy every once in a while having one for the
memorys...<g>.

GB is as you say ...but not the Channel Isles or Jersey ...they are
in a different feudal system to themselves but still a part.

It was the British part.   UK is english ... Wales is Welsh and well
Scotland is always the Scots ....and North Ireland is like the south
Irish.     Also within the UK ... yes they might say British, as
they do have sway over the others, but yes also you might be a man
from Yorkshire who will proclaim his being a Yorkshireman.... but
not me..I am a happy mongrel.

The historical stuff of the past is mostly now lost, but you will
meet a few that keep things going from events over 800 years ago.
 
Not me ... I gave up asking the Italian Government for payment 
for Haderian's Wall and the Roman invasion.

BTW....enjoy the Toasted Western  ...
