Makes sense if you can get the rare stamps, I 
was a collector of stamps for years...but when
I worked for the Post office I got out of the habit
when some co-workers (not at my office) got fired
and went to jail because they found some misprinted
stamps, and sold them to themselves instead of 
turning them in...and then sold them at auction...
at that point I figured I didn't want to have even
the appearance of that conflict...so I stopped 
collecting...maybe I'll start again, I still have 
a few around here somewhere.

He's very lucky! I had a friend who
had wealthy parents. He grew up and
did "ok" but was not what you'd call
wealthy. When his parents died the
will included big money for him...but also
big money for HIS kids...with no stipulations
other than the money became theirs when
they turned 18....out of his three kids, only
one managed to survive the money. the other
two blew it and made horrible decisions (both 
personal and financial) and both ended up
in bad situations.
If I was going to give any money to
kids I'd keep it in my name and only
give it to them when I knew they'd 
know what to do with it. Giving a kid
a bucket load of money when they aren't
equipped to handle it is like handing them
a loaded gun taped to their temple.
