Let me dig out my free motel copy of the Tucson Official 
Visitors Guide...Here it is...Yup, it's officially called 
the Pima Air and Space Museum. And it looks like it is 
the only one in the area.

Sure is. But I enjoyed the Titan Missile Museum even
more. Maybe it was because the docent that day was so
good, maybe it was because it was a singular example of
awesome human technology and of awful human nature 
thwarted by rational self interest.

I considered it, but it sounded a lot like the Palm
Springs (Mojave) desert museum that I saw with Ian and
Jacket a few years ago so I passed this time. I was
only in Tucson for about 2 1/2 days. I liked the city,
it has texture, and I plan to go back.

A total tourist trap! But the operators were down to earth
locals, the prices were moderate and the hoo-ha was so silly
that it was easy to discount. Like a bad, but good natured
traveling carnival or a tiki bar show. Plus under the fake
tinsel there was some real(?) Western mythology to ponder. I
enjoyed it.

-> What I REALLY want to do is get out into the boneyards
-> where all the old plaines and choppers are sitting and
-> get about 4 hours of photographing done...but it ain't

They had guided bus tours of the bone yard while I was there,
did they also have them when you were there? We also have a
major airplane bone yard here near the town of Mojave that 
is visible from the freeway. Have looked into touring that 
one?
