We started with a 71 Pinto. wrecked it on our honeymoon in Sept, 75. Got
a 65 Falcon from Steve's dad which we had until Feb. of 77 when we
bought a new Honda CVCC wagon.  Drove that until just before we went to
Germany. In the summer of 86, we bought an 84 Omni from my parents which
we had until a few months before we came back from Germany, in summer of
92.  Had bought a 92 Chevy Lumina APV mini van in Nov. of 91; Steve's
dad picked it up for us just before it was to go on the boat to come to
Germany in Jan. 92.  Steve got it from his dad in April of 92, took it
to TX and back to NY in May of 92 when he had to go back to Germany
after I broke my wrists.  My dad got it in July of 92 and drove it to
JFK to meet us. We had that van until just before we left HI in late
August, 2006.  It was left on Oahu and we picked up the Focus in Las
Vegas. There have been a few odd 2nd cars when the girls were home but
nothing newer than a 94 (I think that was the model year) Geo Metro.  As
of now, we plan to try to hang on to the Focus at least until Steve
finishes school & we get set in post seminary life.  We just sent in the
final payment (accelerated a bit to get it paid off before retirement)
today.

Thing is, try to avoid the smash up if possible. Smashing is good for
potatoes, bad for cars.

Something to keep in mind.  Seems you can get everything and the kitchen
sink thru them.
