Hi Carol!

> Yes, I will peek about. So far, I'd need a hitch and the teardrops arent
> noted or my area as a rental but thre is a place, on the way up to you with
> rentals. Kinda near DC.

That's good :) You've used the place before?

>> >> In our house, some people could sleep on the floor with sleeping bags, or

>>
>> Lol, I think that sounds great too! That way if we want to, it's no be deal
>> I'll dig up some of ours as well... I think I have them up in the attic (g).

> I have to check the second air one as it's been in the attic too for a time.

Sure, makes sense. My daughter still has so much of her stuff upstairs in our
attic (even though she's moved to Ithaca, about an hour from here) that digging
through it is crazy :) She says she's going to move it "eventually" (bg)

> The futon foam ones (flipper chairs really) are 4 inches thick with one being

That's great!

> Either way if you have the floor space, we can bring plenty of 'stuff' incase

Good, I think that's a great idea. Yes, we've got a bit of floor space.

> it's wanted. Them no big deal if we wanna crack a few beers or a bottle of

Hehe - I'm sure it'll be fine!

>> Oh, that's good. You don't want to give your back any grief with something

> Yeah, especially after the past 4 days. Oh well. The floor actually works
> for me but sofas probably not. The futons? Possibly better than any hotel

Yeah, from the business trips that Ron and I have taken, I know they can be
bad... I haven't heard too much in the way of bad press regarding motels, etc.
around here.. I have a friend who grew up in Binghamton, so I'll see if they
have.

> mattress. Charlotte likes hers so much, she's been resistant to us getting

That's neat though, that she can do that.. I know my grandson was the same way
when my daughter tried to swap out his mattress at some point :)

>> Here's a recipe for you to safely try your hand at somewhat Italian cooking
>> :) It's not really Italian, but uses Italian seasonings (and more (g)). >>
>> ====Italian Stuffed Roast Beef===
>> 1 roast beef, whatever size you like. 1/2 cup grated Locatelli Romano Cheese
>> 1/2 cup chopped Flat-leaf Italian Parsley 4 cloves garlic, minced
>> Preheat oven to 500F.
>> Garlic Salt
>> Black Pepper

> Humm. Thats Italian? Can I throw sone leeks and daikon at it? (evil grin).

Lol! Well, let's see.. I bet that would be good... think about it.. the garlic
and daikon is great together, we know that already (grin).

>> Put the Roast Beef in the roasting pan and use a sharp knife to make 1" gash
>> all over the beast (er roast).. maybe 4 or 5 across the top, 4 or 5 down the

> Hehe i kept reading 'beast' not beef.

haha.. I call it beast.. my grandson calls it "dead cow" (they're vegetarians
(grin)).

>> sides, etc. Mix the grated cheese, parsley and minced garlic well, and with
>> your fingers, stuff some of the mix in each of the gashes.. With a good salt
>> and pepper grinder/shaker, cover the roast with Garlic Salt and then black
>> pepper. It should be covered pretty evenly. Put the roast in the pre-heated
>> oven, and immediately reduce the heat to 350F. Roast according to you taste
>> we like RARE roast beef, so I generally cook it for 20-25 minutes a pound.

> I make a somewhat close to that with a pork roast or skip the cheese and use
> either hoisin or thai 'sweet chicken chile sauce'.

That would be a great pork roast, I really want to try that. :)

> Oh a warning. When we leave, your kitchen will be filled with odd leftover
> bits of sauces that you'll have trouble recalling who brought which <g>.
> Fear not, most of mine dont have to be in the fridge so you can put'em in a
> cabinet and wonder how to use them for the next year or so....

Lol, that's ok..I'm looking forward to seeing them :)

> The guys usually make a point of a 'bad wine taste testing' event too I

What is durian?

Take care,
Janis
