Ärende: CHAIN COFFEE 90401
==========================
Hi Glen,

Know what you mean there :) My dad was always really big on on perc coffee..
always had to have one in the house. It wasn't bad coffee, but he sure knew
how to make good coffee, I swear it must have been a trick he learned in the
navy (g).

Perhaps that's related to it's age.. these days, the coffee makers make burning
hot coffee from what I've seen. You can try cleaning it, that might make a
difference if the heat units are corroded (just a guess). In case you've
forgotten how to clean it, just fill the carafe half-way full with plain water,
and the rest of the way with white vinegar (only). Pour this mixture in the
water receptacle where the water normally goes. Put a filter in the cone, and
start the brewing. Stop it after 10 minutes. Let the mixture sit in the
machine for about 25 minutes. Start the machine again and let the machine
finish the 'coffee' cycle with the mixture. Let the machine cool down. Take
the filter out, and throw it away. Put in a fresh filter. Fill the carafe
with fresh clean water and fill the water receptacle. Start the machine and let
the cycle run with just clear water until it's done. Now after it cools off,
remove the filter and you should get hot coffee the next time you make coffee.

> but I can always zap them

Yes, indeed, that's the important thing :) I think all the coffee makers
measure a coffee cup as a 6 0z. cup, meanwhile Ron and I are using mugs which
measure out to about 10 oz. So when we make a pot of coffee, we turn it off as
soon as it's done, and nuke it when we're ready to have some. Lasts most of
the day that way. Our electric drip makes really good coffee.. comparable to
the manual pour method, and probably your Aromaline. Pretty sure we had one of
those once, as well :) This latest one grinds the beans and then continues
with the brewing..it uses melita filters (melita makes this model as well)..
Now if I could just get this thing connected to my computer Lol

Take care,
Janis
