Thats true. In his case, he's swapped to a happy enough medium for the
daughter's needs (and his). There's several ways to skin this eel ;-)

Same here, different reasons. (High chol and no pills please). I got
results pending now that we've been stateside. I doubt it's as low as the
129 reading of Japan, but it wont be the 400's of stateside either.

Need to have the ones at the gumline taken out soon as you can, at least 1 or
2 a month. They go bad and then you have a much worse problem. We learned
that with Don. He's got more teeth than you still, but not that many. We
just cook around it now.

The worst part of bad teeth, is if you dont pay careful attention to
nutrition, your overall health can sink fast by eating just 'the easy soft
stuff'. Then you get dietary ailments too. Bet you knew that ;-)

 > Cheese: I hate to say it, but I can't find anything to substitute for the re

Me too and one of the hardest for me still. I did find something that helps
me though. I took to small bits of very strong cheeses. Stinky cheese we
call it here ;-)

 > Eggs: I use Egg Beaters (artificial) or egg whites instead of eating the who
 > egg itself.

I just limit the intake. Don can eat 12 eggs a day and show no cholestrol
effect. Me, well, taint the same.

 > University Medical Center, that I use:

Yeah portion size. Some of those (snipped) were quite useful for sizing!

You'll get there on the weight loss, but it will probably take longer. They
say folks about 235 will hit a plateu (sp?) about 1/2 way down. Thats ok.
It's 1/2 the battle and a 50% better situation. At 5"9', you arent too bad
at all!

They say it's 10 lbs per inch? You are 8 inches taller than me. Thats 80
right there. Because you are male, you have a higher muscle ratio so I think
I'd have to lose weight to catch down to you (grin).

At 5"1' and 123 lbs, I am heavier than I was til age 40 or so and technically
over what the Doc's 'prefer' by some 15 lbs.

--------
Slight break, moved the beef stew off to the bigger pot on the stove. It's a
stainless steel thick sort I think of at a french pot (I think the Jusco in
Japan called it that so I do too). Longish medium pot, can carmelize onions
and do all sorts of things in it. About 9-10 inches across. Thick bottomed.
Lid with ajustable steam vent and glass so you can see through.

It just needed more room! I added more carrots, rest of a medium onion, 2
sticks of celery and more water. More black pepper, and it seems to need
nothing more. At the tail end, I will dip out some of the fat and water and
make cabbage to go with it in a separate pan. It's at least an 8 serving pot
for us if not more. Thats 2 dinners and 2 sides for me and Don at lunch
tomorrow. And Don was gonna toss that meat as not right for the dehydrator!
Silly man ;-)

Oh, I added also an eggplant (asian sort) that was starting to go. I cut off
all the brown parts and added it in.

Keep in mind this isnt haute cuicing and here it is:

2 cups cut up fatty meat parts, from a pot roast (not wel trimmed so much
meat)

8 small red potatoes, red, some chopped
1 cup (maybe a bit more) carrots
1 medium onion, baseball sized
1 cup chopped eggplant, with skin, asian thin type
2 celery stalks, chopped
1 pack McCormicks beef stew seasoning (yes, I cheated, shoot me)
3 cups water (will cook down)
1 TS black pepper

It's on low. It is too small for Momma Crock and too big for Baby crock, so
extra water added and on the stove.

Tomorrow, we also will run the dehydrator with about 2 lbs of marinaded meat.
               xxcarol
