That is quite ridiculous!  Who would pay over US$50/lb for catfood?!
I pay US$1.50 for canned cat food, and US$5 for dried stuff.

A good point.  I have always fed my dogs cooked chicken bones, ever
since they were quite young, without any ill effects, in spite of
sombre warnings from some dog owners.  They have grown up with the
ability to crunch them up and swallow, without harm.  After all MLoo
can do that, so why shouldn't a reasonably intelligent dog be able to
do so just as well?

      Title: Dog Bones
 Categories: Pets, Treat
      Yield: 1 Batch
 
      2 c  Flour
    1/2 c  Cornmeal
    1/2 c  Oatmeal
      5 T  Vegetable oil
    2/3 c  Water
      1 ea Jar of babyfood (any flavor)
 
    Mix all ingredients in a large bowl until you get dough that is
  easy to roll out. Roll to desired thickness and use cookie cutters to
  cut out shapes. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 350F for
  15 minutes or until brown. Cool on a towel before putting cookies in
  containers. They can also be frozen for use later. Note: In a pinch
  you can use a ground 7-grain mixture instead of cornmeal. Also if you
  want to use a fruit flavor baby food add spices like cinnamon or
  nutmeg for banana or peach flavors and if using meat flavor, add
  powdered brewers yeast and garlic. You can use peanut butter or
  homemade applesauce too.
