We used to call 'em RUB's...Rich Urban Bikerswannabes.
Most of em talked like they wanted to race the 
Isle of Man, but could only manage to putt putt
into the way of everyone else...Never leaned into
a turn in their life....Feh!
From what I hear, SCCA is still running a drivers
school somewhere down around Sears Point (or
whatever corporate name they've given it these
days).

I weighed but a mere 140 lbs at the time and 
racing against Hawaiian and Samoans....I was
by FAR the lightest and smallest! Sometimes it's
wiser to see the stripes on the road rather than
just blindly drive into the wall (grin). Once I quit
beating them, you'd have thought I was long lost
family! (grin). Still, it was a LOT of fun to race and
the guy I bought my Honda from was a geek wrench
who loved to tweak that bike, so I had a built in 
mechanic who knew his stuff to make it the best!

-> into a corner much too fast ... so, I rolled out of the throttle just a bit

Oddly enough I consider that option every
single Spring...and I've been looking at scooters
although the smaller end of the market.
And I DO hear you about driving ALL the other
vehicles in the area! Been there Done that for sure!
