Hi Ruth!

>> > As mine is waiting for me. (G) I'm glad I do't have to go thru a
>> white > glove inspection--mine's clean enough to be healthy, dirty
>> enough to be > happy as the saying goes.

>> haha.. great saying :) And I'm glad you're taking it easy!

> Best way to conserve my health. (G)

Definitely :) I remember long ago a while after of getting MS, and there was
about Zero energy in me... We established new house rules: If it bothers you,
clean it up.. unless you're a teenager (g).

> Pulled another freezer meal out for
> tonight; it'll go in the oven with a samll acorn squash.

Sounds good :)

>>> Ron and I were talking about it again today.. Last time I tried to
>>> quit I had him hold the cigarettes and lighter. That way I was aware
>>> of when I was lighting up.

>> > Have him put them in the bottom, remotest corner of the deep freeze;
>> > that'll make you think more about getting one. (G)

>> LOL - quite an idea (g) I hope he doesn't decide to start reading
>> echos LOL

> HEY RON................... (G)

LOL, NO FAIR :) But I'm lucky.. he doesn't have time to read Fidonet messages
:)

>> Isn't that neat :) :) Yeah, we're are in pics, you can see the Italian
>> side and the Dutch side, really clearly (g). My son and I sure look
>> very much alike (g). When he was growing up, his eye doctor called me
>> his sister once, I thought I'd die laughing :)

> How did your son take it?

He laughed pretty hard :)

>I was mistaken for a friend's daughter a few
> times; she's only 7 years older than I am. So, kiddingly, if she was
> fussing at me to take it easy, I'd say "yes mother". (G)

Lol :)

>> places > are catering to the American corrupted taste of Mexican so
>> they put it > in everything. Taco Bell is not even close to real
>> Mexican food,

>> Yes, really, I think we ate there ONCE about 20 years ago out of
>> desperation (probably nothing else around whereever we were), and
>> said, bleh! It was horrid, for sure!

> Deborah worked at one in high school. (G)

Hopefully they didn't make her eat there :)

>>> Tonight, I finally made a pot of meatballs, sausage and sauce with the
>>> hot sausage I bought from the health-food store.. I ground the stew
>>> beef I'd also bought there for the meatballs.. they came out great..

>> > Sounds good here. We're going to use hot turkey Italian sausage
>> tonight > with the pepper and onions; the mild turkey we'll throw into
>> sauce.

>> That sounds great! I also bought some ground turkey at the
>> health-food store.. If I can find some casing I might try the same
>> with that, or just make some bulk sausage if I can't find the
>> casings... could be great.. we had some of the ground turkey as
>> burgers the other night, and they were great so the sausage seasonings
>> should be good..

> Sounds like it should be good. We've bought turkey sausage from time to
> time. I can use it instead of the pork in some things that'll keep Steve
> happy and give me a sausage taste, even if it's not quite the same as
> pork.

Sure, understand... the seasonings are great.

>> took > almost 4 days to pack everything and load the truck; it was
>> done in
>> > a bit over 8 hours in HI.

>> That was a good team in HI :) When we went from NY to KY, I think it
>> took them 8 hours to pack up our house, and I was pretty amazed at

> That's doing good. We had a 3 bedroom house (all one level) in AZ, a 3
> bedroom town house (quadplex military housing) in HI. The guys in HI
> didn't take many breaks and had more on the team.

These guys we had just went through the house like crazy, wrapping and boxing
every single thing including a bag of garbage that was waiting to go outside to
the trash :)

>> (g)... So we took the computers and things like that in our car with
>> us, leaving the rest for the packers. I think if we move from here
>> anytime soon, I'd pack up my Embroidery machine in it's original box
>> though and take that in the car as well. The commerical moving
>> company won't warrantee or guarantee anything that you don't let THEM
>> pack.. which would be a problem I think. But thankfully, we're not
>> going anywhere soon (g).

> As of now, we're here until the end of next April. But, things could
> change; that's part of the "fun" of being military.

I can understand that :) There are plenty of times I've thought about a change
of scenery (g).

Take care,
Janis
