Hi Carol,

 > CS> Lets just say, you'll wanna grab it as your seat if you get here ;-)

 > OK, I will. (G) Just give me something to put my feet up onto and I'll
 > be happy.

CS> We'll find something! That or Don can knock together a porch type
CS> with some PT wood we have about from various projects (grin). 10"x14"
CS> and about 6 inches high suit? The chair itself is 'low'ish.

Sounds interesting. We've got a wooden glider on our porch, a pass
along from a friend. I need to get a seat cover made for it at some
point--if I ever catch up with everything else.

CS> Slight break, Don's gonna make a little step stool. Picked out a nice
CS> bit of scrap that with a matching piece and some footers, will do
CS> well. I told him to make it strong enough to stand on so I can use it
CS> in the kitchen at times.

Do it right so it'll be useful as well as pretty. For her first
birthday, Steve's dad made Rachel a small wooden step stool. It's now
in her house but we had it for several years after she got married
(forgot to include it with her HHG). It was just the right height for
me to use to get stuff out of some closets. Now I use the bigger
(metal) step stool; it's not as pretty. (G)

 > Super cushy isn't good; a firm but comfortable is. I like to be able to

CS> Yeah, this one isnt like that but I know what you mean.

Makes getting out of it so much easier when you're not so low slung.

 > CS> How old is he?

 > Charlie is 12 but acts younger at times. We saw him yesterday when our
 > niece came home from work; he acted very much like Sam whenever Deborah
 > came home. The whole back end was wagging!

 CS> Like Cash-pup (grin).

I suspect so. Steve's sister was telling me that they learned the hard
way not to leave the door to the cabinet with his treats even a bit
ajar. He'd nose his way in and clean them right up if he had the
chance.

 > OK, our project was a seat board, covered with firm foam and then
 > upholstry fabric stapled over it. It was then screwed back into the
 > chair frame--a cheap computer chair we got some years before. A few

CS> Similar idea but the seat board is nailed down to the base and the
CS> 'upholstery' gets tacked ontop and ovr a bit with padding under it.
CS> I'll get some trim pieces for the edging.

And everybody will think it was that way all along. (G)

 > > CS> like a crunchy shrimpy crouton (grin).

 > > OK, thanks for the ideas. Jim Weller sent a bunch too so I'm good to

 > CS> Heh can repeat when the time comes!

 > We'll be home on Friday but probably not "resettled" until Monday.
 > Have to do some grocery shopping and make a loaf of bread on Saturday.

CS> Enjoy! I'm catching up messages this weekend.

I'm catching up now; we've been home since Friday evening. Had other
things to catch up on first--making bread, tea, getting groceries, etc,
etc. (G)
