Well, you're not so good as to wear a white hat, so I
couldn't tell. [g]

A risk to be taken. The neighbor who showed up might just as
well have been the upstairs neighbor, who is agreeable and cute,
or even better, her mom, who's in my price, er, age range.

 ml> She lunged at me and gave my nipple a twist,
 BF> The Hussy! Just because you were shirtless and flaunting your
 BF> physique? 

Do you know how it hurts to have your nipple twisted? I wonder
where she learned that trick. I wonder how things would have
turned out if I'd just decked her then.

 ml-> She pulled up a chair, lit up her hash pipe
 BF> A-hah, that's why she wanted to have me sit down next to her, have a
 BF> drink with her, and give her some food... with me old enough to be her
 BF> Grandfather, too!  I thought something funny was going on...

Perhaps she thought (unlike the people in Lynn) that you had
fifty bucks to spare.

 BF> That's when she got up and started to follow me out to the car and
 BF> Shirley. I chickened out and started walking faster, saying I had no
 BF> food. She persisted and I said "See Michael tomorrow, he's got food."

- I don't have anything, but my friend over here, he's got plenty.

 BF> I had no idea of course what she would put you through, and I just
 BF> wanted to get away.  I'm sorry for what she did.  But to me it looked
 BF> like every man for himself!  If she tweaked my nipple, how would I ever

I dunno, but you would have been safely miles and miles away in no
time flat! Perhaps I should have hitched a ride with you.

 ml-> in my most menacing voice, listen to me: if you ever call any of
 ml-> my friends a bitch again, I'll rip your head off. 
 BF> Good thing I was gone... I would not have been as polite over Shirley
 BF> as you were.

To give her credit, she didn't know the particulars but was just
using every bad word she knew and venting her anger against persons
unknown. In fact, she used that later as an excuse, that she didn't
know you all and thus I shouldn't take things personally. That
didn't wash with me. Bill had told me that she was a mean drunk,
and boy is that true in spades.

      Title: Stuffed Mushroom Caps
 Categories: Appetizers, Vegetarian
      Yield: 10 servings

     10 lg Mushrooms                           1 tb Fresh parsley, chopped
      1 ts Cold-pressed olive oil              1 sl Whole wheat bread
    1/4    Onion; finely chopped                    - crumbs
      3 lg Garlic cloves                     1/8 ts Pepper
           - finely chopped                    1 tb Natural soy sauce
    1/4 ts Basil                               1 tb Sherry
    1/4 ts Oregano

  1.  Preheat the oven to 350 F.  Gently clean the mushrooms with a damp
  cloth.  Remove the stems and chop them finely.

  2.  Heat the oil (or water) in a skillet.  Add the onion and cook until
  golden.  Add the garlic and cook 1 minute more. Add the chopped mushroom
  stems, basil, oregano, and parsley, and cook 5 minutes, stirring,
  occasionally.  Add the bread crumbs, petter, soy sauce, and sherry, and
  heat, stirring for 2 minutes. Add additional salt and pepper if needed.

  3.  Place the mushroom caps, open side up, in a lightly oiled baking dish.
  Fill each cap with the bread crumb mixture, forming a mound with your
  fingers.

  4.  Bake for 15 minutes and serve hot.
