Yeah, it's not like dogs I expect who would most likely have a license
registered in town hall, or wherever.  So the collar with maybe id-tag at least
makes some sense as a possibility.. but even that is strange for a starving
stray kitty.  They typically get in such fights that any collar is ripped off
in the fray (at least from what I've seen).

I doubt 'those kind of people' would ever tell them, "we dumped our last one"
...  so yeah, the question is kind of silly. But their mandate probably forces
them to ask that, I'd guess.

Wow.. a month for a dog.. I have no idea how long it would take for adoption
from the pound around here.  I know some of them can take a while though. I
remember when we were on our way to KY from NY, Chester (my cocker, the
brain-damaged guy (g)), bit me really bad in the car's front seat (wasn't his
fault, the vet had over-tranquilized him, I think.. Dog was taking Dilantin
already, and he probably didn't even know who I was that day) .. Ron stopped
the car immediately and insisted on leavng the dog at the closest dog pound
with enough $$ to keep the dummy alive til we could get him sent to us via
plane to KY. They kept him there for us, and once we got to KY, we contacted
them to make arrangements for his return to us.. They told us that they had to
keep the dog there for 6 months, regardless of our wishes, since the law in PA.
said that any time a dog bit someone, it had to stay at the pound for 6 mos. to
determine whether the dog had rabies or not (shot records from out of state
didn't matter).. anyway, that was sure a long time to wait.. so I guess 1 month
isn't so bad after all, and who knows what their reasoning could be.. could be
some strange law or other like that one in PA.

Lol :) And I bet he insisted on it whether you wanted him on your lap or not?
:) :)  I had a cat like that once.. Pete.. he was a Maine Coon Cat if you've
ever heard of them.. They are named that way because of their tails resembling
a raccoon's tail.. very very long.. The cat really looked like those pictures
of Black Cats you see on Halloween cards, etc. with the high arched back and
long long body and tail, when he was upset or going to attack :) And His purr
was so loud we used to say the same thing :)

Yep.. you have to wonder which is worse.. the pet mill or the pet-abandoners,
or the irresponsible owners.. guess they are all pretty bad :(

==Korean Clam Bake==
1 lb. short neck clams in shell
1/3 cup sake
A) 1 Tablespoon finely chopped green onion
   2 teaspoons soy sauce
   1 teaspoon finely chopped garlic
   1 teaspoon sesame seeds
   salt and pepper
   MSG (I never use that, too many with allergies)

1 teaspoon sesame oil
2 stalks chives, finely chopped for garnish chili pepper, shredded for garnish

Soak short neck clams in salted water and set aside to remove sand. In a
skillet, put clams and pour over sake. Cover and steam over high heat.

Steam 2-3 minutes until shells open.  Combine all ingredients in A) and stir in
to pan.  Sprinkle with sesame oil. Transfer to serving bowl and garnish with
finely chopped chives and shredded chili pepper. If you prefer hotter taste,
cook with ground chilli pepper.
