I have a CD with a version of Linux (called Puppy) on it that I could
boot from.  I did that when I was learning the linux system on my EeePC
notebook computer that I use for travel.

That sounds like the BBS computer that I recently retired.  256M ram is
not much when you are running Windows XP:-}}

I've been with DELL for 10 years, three desktop computers and never
regretted it.  You might be interested in this web site:

Hmm, I don't even know what those two are -- but I can relay something
that happened to me.  Two computers ago, I bought a DELL with a new type
of very fast memory called RAMBUS.  Sounded good at the time.  However,
some years later when I wanted to add more memory, I discovered that
sort had fallen out of favor and was 4-10 times more expensive than
other types.


MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.05
 
      Title: Hardy Potato Soup
 Categories: Soup, Vegetable, D/g, Easy
      Yield: 4 servings
 
      1 lb Smoked sausage
      1 md Onion (chopped)
      4 lg Potatoes
      3 c  Hot water
           Salt (to taste)
           Pepper (to taste)
      2 tb Parsley (chopped)
      1 md Carrot (chopped) *
      1    Stalk celery (chopped)*
    1/2 c  Milk *
      1    Veg Boul.Cube *
 
  
  Peel and thinly slice potatoes.  Cut sausage into half inch slices;
  place in large saucepan and brown on both sides.  Add chopped onion
  and cook until wilted.  Add potatoes, water, salt and pepper.  Boil
  30 minutes. Add parsley and simmer 2 minutes longer.

  Personal Note:
  
  *Added by me, not in the original recipe.
  I made half of this recipe, cubed the potatoes instead of slicing
  them. Had leftover smoked sausage, sliced and added that toward the
  end.
  
  Whole process took less than 20 minutes to prepare.  Added 1/2 cup of
  milk to the soup to thin it down some.
