Ärende: Checkers Burger

Gail and I went for lunch today to try out your #2 commercial burger
chain -- Checkers.

She had what I believe is called a Bacon Champ Burger -- a single patty,
bacon, cheese, tomato, red onion slice, pickle and sauces.  She liked it
ok, but did complain a little at too much mustard.

I had what the window said was BaconZilla, and the sales slip said was a
DBL stack.  It was two patties, two layers of bacon, cheese, and sauce.
It did not have onion or tomato.  I'll swear that the cheese on mine was
cheese whiz -- and it dripped out as I ate the burger.  I'm not sure if
the sauce was something other than ketchup & mustard or if it just
tasted different because of the cheese and bacon.  To tell the truth,
bacon was a dominant flavor.  I had to pull out a hunk of meat to taste
it directly.  Decent, but not too special.

Our conclusion -- decent.  The McDonald's Angus burger is still our top
rated chain burger though.

OTOH -- consider the burger we saw on the news today.  It was put out by
Burger King in Japan -- a limited special to promote the roll out of
Windows 7.  This monster is a stack of seven patties and is five inches

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.05
 
      Title: Sweet Potato Soup
 Categories: Soup, Vegetable
      Yield: 1 servings
 
      1 tb Flavorless cooking oil
      1 md Onion, chopped
      6 c  Canned low-sodium chicken
           -broth, water or a mixture
  1 1/4 lb Sweet potatoes, peeled and
           -roughly diced, or
           -about 3 c
    1/2 ts Nutmeg
      1 ts Salt, or to taste
    1/4 ts White pepper
    1/2 c  Chunky cranberry sauce
           -Sour cream
 
  HEAT OIL IN A POT over medium heat; add onions. Cook,
  stirring, for 5 minutes. Add stock, potatoes, nutmeg, salt
  and pepper. Raise heat to high, cover and bring to a boil.
  Reduce heat to low and simmer, uncovered, for 30 minutes.
  Remove from heat and puree the soup in batches. Replace
  pureed soup in a pot and reheat, covered, over low heat. To
  serve, place a dollop of cranberries and sour cream in the
  bottom of each soup bowl. Transfer piping hot soup to a
  tureen or pitcher and ladle into bowls at the table.
