Loving anything to the point of obsession is an aberration. I have never made
the pursuit of feelthy lucre a priority - as a result I have been able to do
pretty much what I wanted in my working life, taking jobs which interested me
and were personally rewarding ... but, not always highly paid. A position with
which I am sure you are familiar.  Bv)=

He may learn now ... he forwarded me an e-mail he received then called to ask
if I thought it was a "spoof". (part reproduced here)

Dear Txxxxx Gxxxxxx:

We recently received the attached notice from NBC Universal claiming
that your Internet account may have been used for copyright
infringement. Specifically, NBC Universal claims that your account was
used to reproduce and/or distribute copyrighted content without
authorization to other users of an Internet-based file-sharing
network. We are forwarding this notice at the request of NBC Universal
-- please see the enclosed document.

Content providers such as NBC Universal routinely monitor file-sharing
networks to determine if their copyrighted movies and music are being
distributed illegally over the Internet. NBC Universal identified your
AT&T account by its numeric IP address, a string of numbers
identifiable by any site from which you upload or download files. When
an Internet user connects to file-sharing networks, the IP address
assigned to the computer connected to the Internet becomes publicly
available to other members of the network. Consistent with our
Customer Privacy Policy, AT&T has not released your name or any other
personal information to NBC Universal, but is forwarding this notice
to you so that this issue may be resolved without any further action.

There's a lot more with specifics such as IP address, the name of a flicker,
the torrent site which it was from, etc. 

So, I called him and told him "You're eff-bombed unless you stop downloading
movies immediately and don't do it any more."

Then he whines "But, I have several movies that are almost done. I'll quit when
they are finished."

"What part of immediately didn't you understand? Your arse is nailed to the
wall, They have you in their sights and are monitoring your usage. And if you
think AT&T won't give you up in a Sarasota Second just keep downloading - then
you can enjoy your movies and share them around down at the homeless shelter
after NBC/Universal takes your house, bank account and anything else you have
of value."

I dunno if it worked - but, if it didn't I'll try not to cry too loudly. If he
quits now it's likely that AT&T won't give him up ... because of the statement
"AT&T has not released your name or any other
personal information to NBC Universal, but is forwarding this notice to you so
that this issue may be resolved without any further action"

Appropos of nothing except this was the next recipe in the stand-by queue ....

      Title: Gingersnap Gravy
 Categories: Sauces, Chilies, Citrus
      Yield: 6 servings
 
MMMMM------------------------SEASONINGS-----------------------------
      1 ts Black pepper
    1/2 ts Salt
    1/2 ts White pepper
    1/2 ts Ground ginger
    1/2 ts Dried thyme leaves
    1/4 ts Rubbed sage
    1/2 ts Ground cayenne pepper
    1/4 ts Ground cumin

MMMMM--------------------------GRAVY--------------------------------
      2 tb Chicken, pork, or beef fat
      2 tb Unsalted butter
    3/4 c  Fine chopped onions
    1/2 c  Fine chopped celery
    1/2 ts Minced garlic
      6 c  Chicken stock (not broth)
      1 c  Pan drippings from chicken   
      8    Gingersnap cookies   
      1 ts Light brown sugar; or more
      1 ts Ground ginger; or more

  Combine the seasoning mix ingredients in a small bowl and
  set aside. Melt the fat and butter in a large skillet over
  medium heat. When almost melted, add the onions, celery,
  and garlic; saute 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  Stir in the seasoning mix and cook 5 minutes more, stirring
  occasionally. Add the stock and pan drippings; bring to a
  boil over high heat and boil rapidly until liquid reduces
  to about 1 quart, about 25 minutes.

  Then crumble the gingersnaps into the stock mixture and
  whisk with a metal whisk until they are dissolved.

  Continue cooking 10 minutes, whisking frequently and making
  sure the gingersnaps are thoroughly dissolved. During this
  time, taste the gravy; if the ginger flavor is not pronounced
  add the 1 tablespoon brown sugar and the 1 teaspoon ginger
  or add both to taste. Strain the gravy.

  Makes 2-1/2 to 3 cups.
