That is funny but makes sense. The computer that gives me so
much annoyance has redeemed itself for now, as I've managed to
drop it twice (in its bag, which is inadequately padded), and
it's so far bounced back just fine. But I'm keeping the DOS Box
and similar recommendations for the inevitable rainy day.

 SD> MealMaster runs nicely also, but there's a better program for Leenuuux

I don't bother keeping recipes in order, so that's not a
major issue for me. One main purpose for using DOS Box on
future machines would be to use WordPerfect 5.1, the one
and greatest word processing program. Funny thing, I was
taking my friend Susie's roommate Helen out for drinks
last night (long story), and some guys at the end of the
bar were making fun of one of their absent acquaintances
because he still uses "DOS programs like WordPerfect 5.1."

Nanna Macklin's Meatballs Puttanesca
cat: north shore, main
Serves: 10

h - Meatballs
1 lb ground beef
1 lb ground pork
1 lb ground veal
2 eggs
2 c seasoned bread crumbs
1/4 c fresh or dried parsley
2 Tb garlic powder
Salt and pepper to taste
h - Sauce
4 lb cans crushed or whole tomatoes
2 cloves fresh garlic, chopped
1 sm jar capers
1 1/2 c pitted kalamata olives
2 tins anchovies
1/4 c olive oil

Preheat oven to 350F. Mix all meatball ingredients in
a bowl until well blended. If necessary, add more
breadcrumbs to produce more consistency. Form into
1" meatballs and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake
15-20 min or until golden brown. When finished, add sauce.

Sauté garlic with anchovies over med-low heat until garlic
is brown and anchovies somewhat dissolved. Add olives and
capers and cook for 3-4 min while stirring. Add tomatoes
and stir. Cook for 20 min or until flavors merge.
