Hello, All.

I thought the title would get your attention. :)

I decided to try something new a few days ago.  I'd bought a couple of packs of
Oscar Meyer "thick cut" bacon before Thanksgiving on sale.  They'd sat in the
fridge unnoticed until I got a hankering for bacon, eggs and toast for dinner.

I loathe pan frying because of the mess so I thought I'd try using my George
Foreman grill.  I have one of the larger red ones with the removable plates
(one of the best Christmas gifts I've ever received) so I thought I'd try using
that.  I got online, did some Google searching and got an idea of settings to
use and what not.

Here's what I learned: first of all, don't use the small drip pan(s) that you
get with the grill but use a small cookie pan instead.  Easier clean-up.  I
could only get three slices of bacon on there at a time (these were big
slices), so I set the grill on high (around 400 degrees?).  I cooked the bacon
for six minutes on each side; yes, I could have just let them cook since the
grill is heated on top and bottom, but I found that turning them ensures less
burning and more even cooking.

The bacon came out done but slightly chewy and there was very little grease
left on the bacon.  I patted the bacon dry and it was absolutely delicious and
had a nice texture that other times bacon just didn't have for me.

Cleanup was a breeze.  When I was done, I immediately put a small pile of damp
paper towels in between the grill plates (after the grill was turned off). That
sat while I ate.  I then washed the plates after soaking them for 10 minutes. 
The grease went down the drain followed by hot soapy water.

In the end, all of the effort was worth it.  That was some good bacon. :)
