=====================
Hi Ruth,

-> RH> that caters more to Jamaicans. They have some good things, but
 RH> also a
-> RH> lot of overpriced stuff.

-> Sounds like you have an interesting variety to shop at. On the way to

 RH> You could say that. The asian place is a lot farther away, but if you
 RH> want interesting stuff it's the place to go.

There doesn't seem to be too many options in WF but we've got Raleigh in
our back yard. Then, too, there could be places we've not yet
discovered here in town.

-> Durham today I noticed another couple of Mexican store/restaurant
-> combos. Savannah had a Mexican grocery store and several restaurants
-> that had authentic food; it's surprising the number of Mexican
-> immagrants in the Southeast.

 RH> That does sound almost odd. We get a pile of Dominicans though, so I
 RH> guess it's not that strange. We have a Peruvian consulate somewhere
 RH> around too. Don't ask me how we got a decent Peruvian population, but

My guess with the Hispanic population is that they were hired as labor
in some of the agricultural related industries around here.

->  RH> I normally don't add sweeteners anyway, so it's not a problem.

-> I have to drink it sweet, just something about unsweetened tea that I
-> don't like. I did have to get some ice to cool my tea this morning as I
-> didn't have time to empty the dishwasher before we had to leave.

 RH> I normally don't like it with sugar in it, and can't stand the fake
 RH> stuff. To each her own I guess.

That's what it boils down to. Sometimes I tell Steve that adding the
sugar to my tea (none white sugar) is what helps keep me sweet. (G)

->  RH> That's how I buy everything else anyway.  I found a friend some
-> RH> licorice tea that way recently when my local supermarket stopped
->  RH> carrying it.

-> I still get out and shop "for real" for what I can.

 RH> Same here. Some things are easier to get on line though, and cheaper
 RH> when you factor in the gas.

Very true, especially this time of year. I try to avoid shopping at
times when everybody & their brother are out, like on Saturdays. That's
where Steve's school schedule allows for a bit of flex there; we can go
during the day if we want or on week days instead of week ends.

->  RH> I don't make popcorn all that often.

-> We go on fits and spurts but overall, the amount we make has decreased
-> with the girls out of the house.

 RH> I make some about once every two months, if that often.

Some stretches, that's twice (or more) often than we make it.

-> I think as we age, we lose our cold tolerance, probably faster than our
-> heat tolerance, no matter what our body looks like.

 RH> I never had any heat tolerance to lose.

I had some, up to a certain range, but have had to deal with really hot
at times. I can take a higher heat if it's dry than a lower (but still
hot) that's really humid.

Catch you later,
Ruth
