ML>> Adzuki beans get even redder when ground and mushed into

ML>> made with some strange alien bean.
NB>> There's a yellowish bean paste I've seen in buns that was called lotus
NB>> bean paste, I think. Tastes similar, not quite identical, though...

ML> It's lotus seeds. The similarity lies in the fact that lard
ML> is a major ingredient of both fillings. I actually like these
ML> the best, as the flavor is slightly nutty, as befits a seed.

OK. Makes sense... when I was told what it was, I could well have not
fully caught the accent... bean, seed, they sound a little alike, too.
I like them both anyway... :)

 ML>> I don't understand this newfangled twentieth-century technology.
NB>> Ours not to reason why, ours just to lose and cry? ;) or preferably,

I'll accept that one... even better than mine.. :)

NB>> reading and replying. And now Fidotel seems to have lost the Fido

 NB>> working overtime.

This last appears to be that Bob Seaborn's hub has a problem... and of
course, he's been out of town... :(

ML> As I said, I don't understand. This packet is going to
ML> contain a double dose from me to help make up for the
ML> shortages. Interesting - a couple times this year I think
ML> (possibly last year, too) when the stats came out, my
ML> pattern of multiples of five was broken, and I wondered
ML> about that. This appears to be a problem of relatively
ML> recent origin, so I wonder if either the production of
ML> MSGID or the mechanism its checking has changed someplace.

The particular manifestation of the problem seems relatively recent, of
coming up missing places where they never used to have a problem... I
remember though that back in the heyday, there would always be the odd
message that would somehow get trapped in some black hole and never make
it to the destination too... I got in the habit of saving all my reply
packets years ago for just that reason... it made re-sending things so
much easier... especially long detailed genealogy replies that had taken
many minutes to craft... :) And I first logged onto Fidotel in order
to help troubleshoot why some of Daryl Stout's messages in MEMORIES
didn't seem to get anywhere except for the bbs in Great Britain I was
using as a backup... :) Jack Yates suggested that they might be
there, too... but as it turned out, I don't think they were... :)

I think your idea of numbering them does make it easier to see when one
goes missing... and doing things in multiples of fives does show up the
lack also... But still, it IS a puzzlement... :)

... See? I can be serious once in a great while!!
