In fact, I can't tell the difference between the brand name spaghetti
and the 99c/500g packet Coles Supermarket brand.

Today Kevin called in for lunch, and although I had originally planned
to cook the Taliban chook breast more or less from scratch, in the
Viet store I found a packet of Thai "Satay seasoning mix" for chicken,
of the "Mix contents of this packet A with 60ml coconut milk, marinate
chicken 1/2 kg striped for 1 hr", and "Empty contents of packet B in a
small pot, add 180ml coconut milk and 3 tablespoons vegetable oil and
simmer for 15 minutes" type, so decided to try that.  We never did
work out what "striped" meant, and we added a few extras onto the
bamboo satay sticks, like strawberries, red onions, dried apricots and
cherries, but we gave it a go, and the final result was very good,
accompanied with Turkish bread from the local bakery and a salad.

Unfortunately I have caught Dave the Sac's tooth abcess, at a good
time of the year when all the dentists are off enjoying Christmas
sniffing nitrous oxide with their families, so I just have to scowl
and put up with the pain.  Bah, humbug!

[A little later - one of Jason's lady friends has just given me a
"Merry Christmas" kiss, so life is not quite so bad...]
