====================================================================
Hi Ruth,

-> RH> On the other hand, you never know. One of your brothers (I almost

-> Highly unlikely now. Even so, if they married women about their age,
-> the women would have to have children from a previous relatonship.
-> OTOH, if my brothers married younger women, there's the chance of more
-> grand kids for my folks.

 RH> It's been known to happen. I've known plenty of people who did just
 RH> that.

I'm not holding my brreath that they will get married. Of the two, I'd
say my younger brother has the better chance but even still, it's a slim
chance.

-> That has been an appropriate term at times. Got a package from Dakin
-> Farms of Vermont from my younger brother the other day.

 RH> If he sends goodies, he's not a bother ... today at least.

No, some good eats that we decided to pop into the freezer & pantry
until we got back from our trip.

-> Progress! More like regress at times.

 RH> Or like Con-gress, as the old joke goes.

Old one but still relevent.

-> Sounds interesting. I've seen some of the fabric from there and

 RH> That's one word for it.(LOL) I refer to it as the gaudy tacky sweater.

-> wouldn't mind owning some. Some pieces are big enough I can restyle
-> them into something more my style but with the ethnic fabrics. Soory,
-> I'm not a sari wearer, especially in the winter.

 RH> Me neither. I do have one Indian-style outfit, but it's Northern
 RH> Indian, which means pants.

I wear pants most of the time as is. Definately tomorrow for church
with this cold spell we're in the midst of.

-> holly leaves & berries and red bows (another of my projects).........
-> need I say more? I wore the divided city one to Wed. night services a
-> few weeks ago; one of the kids (12 year old) was having fun trying to
-> decypher the Russian.

 RH> Russian language sweatshirt?  COOL!

It also has French, German & English on it.

-> RH> sleeves that are actually long sleeves.

-> Other than making your own. Time for that can be a crunch; I cut out

 RH> And I can't do that for turtlenecks anyway, not having a serger.

It's possible to make one without a serger. The serger allows for free
time--cook something that takes more time for supper with the extra
time.

-> assembled. But, I got a dress & pantaloons done for Sarah (update,
-> doing better but waiting on blood O2 levels to pick up aa bit more, just
-> talked to Rachel) in a week. I put my new bathrobe aside for that
-> project & still had blue fuzzies all over the ewing room. (G)

 RH> I know the feeling. I made a throw out of one of the really silky
 RH> fuzzy fleece types once; I'm still finding fuzzies from that stuff.

So far, none have migrated to the kitchen area. I'm trying to make sure
none are sticking to me when I have to work on meals; I don't want to
find any blue fuzzies in red sauce or yellow eggs.

-> RH> in a dumb look from the waiter.

-> Most of the tme, yes. I do better ordering in Spanish.

 RH> Unless you're in a Chinese restaurant, and maybe even then in some
 RH> places.

Most of the time, the Chinese restaurants have an English menu. Some
translations are a bit unusual but it just makes the anticipation of the
actual dish a bit higher.

-> exsist where it still is quite foreign but any place that can get cable
-> or satellite tv or internet should at least know about some of the more
-> common Chinese food.

 RH> I don't think I've ever been to a smallish city that didn't have at
 RH> least one Chinese place.

They do seem to be most everywhere. I didn't really notice any in
Israel but they were probably there too.

-> RH> My mom had the same reaction. I saw a Christmas card today with a
-> RH> baby's footprint on the cover. Someone else had a similar idea.

-> We usually try to do something a bit different. Ths year's mail out was
-> back to our card/letter format.

 RH> I know - I just got mine. I don't use prefab cards all that often
 RH> these days, so I don't have the problem of blending in.

We've done that format quite often over the last 10-15 years. A Jewish
friend gets the letter but the card is usually separate, with a
different greeting.

shortbread
-> Whole wheat pastry flour and either a Kitchen Aid mixer or a
-> co-operative husband. (G)

 RH> Now there's an idea! I'd try the husband first; I'm never too
 RH> sanguine about throwing a hands-only recipe into a mixer.

I'm doing it more and more with the KA. I rarely used the mixer part of
the Kitchen Center, using a hand mixer or mixing by hand most of the
time. The KA gets used now instead of either the hand mixer or by hand
most of the time.

-> -> the sermon was not quite as long as it usually is. Still covered a
 RH> lot
-> -> of ground tho.
 RH> ->
-> RH> I'll bet the worship team was ready for a nap after that one.
 RH> ->
-> Most of us were. I shut my eyes for a bit. (G)

 RH> After the service, or during?(G)

After service and Life Group.
