Ärende: knife work
==================
Hi Ruth,

-> under the age of 2 (she's 14 months). It is quite contageous, mimicing a
-> cold at first but can turn serious fast, attacking the lungs. Sarah's
-> visits to his sister. Deborah (with help from one of her male cousins)
-> called "Santa" so Robert could ask him to drop by a few days later than
-> normal, after Sarah comes home. He was allowed to open his gifts from
-> us while we watched via a web cam and Skype last night.

 RH> That's one way to handle it. I got phone calls from Mr. Bear and Mr.
 RH> Moose as a kid, but everyone knew it was really Daddy making things
 RH> up. It still worked though, when Mr. Bear said it was time for the
 RH> children to
 RH> (whatever).

We never got anything like that but it could be because there were 5 of
us kids. Nor did we do that to our girls. BTW, Sarah came home on the
28th of December but will be having more testing to find out if she has
asthma or anything else that may have made the RSV so bad.

-> RH> Bad eating habits in addition to peeping kids. Yipes. I hope
 RH> someone
-> RH> catches that dude. Anyone have extradition agreements with the
 RH> North
->  RH> Pole?

-> Don't know, he's a fast one.

 RH> That sleigh thing of his with the eight reindeer power engine can
 RH> really move. Even NASA can only track him rather than contain him.

Powered by milk, cookies and hay. Sometimes a carrot for the reindeer.

-> Different take, but obviously worked for you. What is your niece's view
-> point?

 RH> She doesn't even know who Santa is, I think. Then too, she'd rather
 RH> play with PlayDough than open presents.

It may be totally different the next time.  Talked to Rachel tonight;
she loved the dress & pantaloons I made for Sarah. An impulse gift but
one only a grandma can do.

-> RH> We can't put pizza boxes in recyclables; it has to be clean
 RH> cardboard.

-> Same here actually. Cereal boxes are OK, same with boxes that had dried
-> pasta in them but no pizza boxes. I've read of some women who get new

 RH> We can't put out either of those, just corrugated stuff.

What about glossy magazines?

-> ones from pizza to put quilt blocks in but I use other things. Don't
-> want to risk a block being tossed accidentally, not that we order pizza
-> that way to begin with. Ours is the home made type--the better tasting
-> type.

 RH> I get takeout pizza about twice a year.

That's a lot more often than we have it.

-> -> mom who's diabetic, nothing hot is allowed, etc, etc but we found
 RH> some
-> -> varieties that met the neccessary criteria.

-> RH> Nothing hot, nothing sweet...what's left to eat? (innocent face)

-> Salty, but only to a certain extent, even with that. But, beats giving
-> sweets to known diabetics or hot stuff to those you know don't like it.

 RH> There is that.... I suppose if you're dealing with someone who thinks
 RH> paprika is a spice rather than food coloring you have to make
 RH> sacrifices.

We want them to be able to enjoy the nuts. And, they were. We also got
something while on our trip for them--non food so it'll last longer.

-> RH> No well to deal with either, and unlike them I can cook with a gas
-> RH> stove. No filthy mcnasty electric ranges here!

-> Rub it in, I'm stuck with an electric range again. Got to take what the
-> rental property has--we looked at some with gas but there were several
-> reasons why we took this place instead of others.

 RH> Around here it's more common in single-family homes than apartments or
 RH> condos. Don't ask me why.

Probably the ease of running pipe for the gas in houses. it's easier to
put in wiring and a heavy duty outlet in apartments, condos, etc than
running pipes all over the building.

Catch you later,
Ruth
