I generally prefer water, I like water so 
that's no problem for me...I'm trying to
remember the last time I had a soft drink...
I'm guessing it would have been in a mixed
drink but I'm not sure if I had a single soft 
drink in 2009...I'm sure I haven't had one 
in 2010 so far (grin)!
 
-> One kibbutz meal was where they had a restaurant where the specialty 
was
-> St. Peter's fish, aka tilapia, raised on the kibbutz.  That was more of
-> a family style serving for the soup and salad, then they brought out a
-> plate for each person with a gutted out fried fish on it.  Most still
-> had the head & tail.  Some of our group were a bit bothered by it,
-> especially the high school age daughter of one of the tour leaders.  I
-> think she did eat a bit of it, after her mom deboned it.  That was the
-> only dairy lunch; the others were meat.  All the suppers were meat; all
-> the breakfasts were dairy.  Hummus was available at most of the meals;
-> we've decided to try to keep some (home made) on hand on a regular
-> basis.

Gosh, I know we have become a 
squeamish bunch...but just because a 
fish is fried with the head attached? My goodness!
Of course Annie would have starved at that 
restaurant (grin)....We like hummus quite a
bit and have it in the house almost all the time.
I use it on Anne's wraps for her school lunches
in place of mayo or mustard...works great!
It's easy to make...and I have a place where
I can get dried garbanzo's so I may even try
to make it that way as well.
