I had pork liver poached in pig bone soup recently.
It was very nice.

I've lost over 15 lb of fluid. In that sense, yes.
In general, still pretty malaised. Oddly, when I am
feeling oxygen deprived, my SpO2 is generally normal
(95+), but there are short (few seconds) episodes of
90 or even lower. My brain registers the distress from
the latter even after the normal returns. Nobody seems
to know why this happens, and even after having this
recorded, nobody was impressed. I've ended up having
it taken two or three times a day (always normal,
because the machine takes several readings) instead of
having to wear the damned thing continuously.

Poppy seed crazy cake
Cat: dessert, nondairy
Servings: 9 to 12

1 1/2 c (6.4 oz) unbleached flour
1 c sugar
1 1/2 ts baking powder
1/4 c poppy seeds
2 ts fresh lemon juice
1 ts cider vinegar
1 1/2 ts almond extract
1/4 c plus 2 tablespoons canola oil
1 c boiling water
h - fruit glaze
1/4 c apricot jam
1/2 ts lemon juice
1 Tb water

This recipe works best with a higher-protein
all-purpose flour, such as King Arthur brand.

Heat the oven to 350F. In an 8"-square baking dish, sift
together the flour, sugar and baking powder. Stir in the
poppy seeds. Use the handle of a wooden spoon to make
three holes in the mixture. Put lemon juice and vinegar
in one hole, almond extract in the second, and the
canola oil in the third. Pour the hot water over all.
Stir with the wooden spoon until the mixture is smooth.

Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out
clean, about 30 min. Cool the cake, then brush with a
fruit glaze or sprinkle with powdered sugar.

Fruit glaze - in a small saucepan over low heat, combine
the jam, lemon juice, and water. Cook, stirring frequently
until the jam melts, about 3 min. Remove from heat to a
small bowl. Refrigerate, covered, for up to 1 week.
