Ärende: Junior is born!
=======================
Hi Carol,

CS> Junior is working well for us.

Good, give the other two a well deserved rest. (G)

 > CS> Ok. I am practicing smallr recipes here. Don filled the crockpit JR

CS> I cook often enough during the week too though. And yes, Don's a stay
CS> at home Dad. He's got a hankering to practice on chicken and
CS> dumplings. Hasnt quite gotten there yet but he's made some tasty
 CS> chicken stuff up.

Dumplings can be tricky in a crock pot. I know you would have to use
the high heat level but I don't know if it's hot enough to cook the
dumplings. Guess he'll just keep experimenting and you will keep
enjoying the results.

Steve is at home a lot more now than when he was in the Army. He gets
his own breakfast most mornings, lunch a lot of times too (those are
usually simple meals) but I do the big cooking for supper. Saturday
mornings are the times he usually does a more elaborate breakfast; I'll
help on that. I also do most of the clean up, used to be all but he's
gotten better over the years.

 > CS> Well, it's small. ;-)

 > Either fun size (like the candy bars) or it shrunk in the wash. (G)

CS> That must be it. We washed it and it shrunk!

That's what we say about our little Swiss Army knives. We both have a
standard size one and one that's about 2" long. My little one is in my
purse (except when I fly); it has been quite useful at times. When
Steve was active duty, he wore his big one on his belt. The other day
he said something about missing it--but doesn't want to wear it around
campus.

CS> I'm thinking to replace mine. Upscale it a bit.

Difference is, you own, we lease.

 > CS> Cant be smaller than my Hawaii kitchen!

CS> I still need to find an island on wheels. One with mega pot storage
 CS> capabilit y.

Check out Lowe's; we got ours there. They called it a "butler". It's
about 32"lx21"wx36"h. One area is supposed to be for a trash bag; it has
a pull out open (no bottom) drawer that you put the bag into & it hangs
down into the lwer, open area (behind a door). I got a plastic basket
at W-M that fits the drawer space nicely; most of my bags & wraps are in
there. The lower part has my bread maker and our electric slicer. The
other side has adjustable shelves behind the closed door. Above those
are 2 drawers, one with a silverware tray and dividers beneath that. The
top of the unit has a built in (non removable) cutting board and a
(removable) marble slab. We threw a towel over top of those so we could
use the top to hold the knife block, napkin basket, etc. The top has a
hinged section coming off one side, gives you an extra counter top.
That's about 32"x12". It has lockable wheels & comes as a DIY project.
Definately added to the available space for storage in the kitchen. We
looked at one at W-M that wasn't nearly so nice, go with Lowe's if you
decide to go that route.

CS> I've got a movable clothes cabinet in there now with 2 'shoe hangers'
CS> (or whatever could be sweaters and stuff) pressed into pot storage
 CS> usage.

Check out (on line, if not "in person") what I described. The Lowe's
stores in NC also give retired military a discount, you might have it in
VA too.

Catch you later,
Ruth
