 HN> How'd the concert go? How was Nicholas's

Dunno about the concert - they all go fine I guess.
Nicholas's party had but 7, which was good, as there
were only 4 bottles of wine: Roederer Estate Blanc de
Blancs, Sandeman Imperial Corregidor, Mouton-Rothschild
1957, and Robert Mondavi Reserve Cabernet 1974. The
main course was ham, which of course neither Nicholas
nor I should eat. I had a bunch of fat, which was less
salty than the ham itself, and I'm on sodium restriction,
not on fat restriction.

 -> The CCU was so comfy that if they'd put me there to begin

The nurses on the general floor were young and pretty.
On the CCU they had a bit more experience on them.

I could just take Plavix for another 25 days and then hope

Considering that catchers make up 1/9 or 1/10 of the lineup and
1/8 to 1/12 of the roster, that qualifies as "a lot." And then
bearing in mind that some of the managers had insignificant or
no major-league playing experience ...

Superauthentic (?) Mexican Mole Sauce (?)
cat: mexican, mole, sauce, superauthentic
yield: 8 to 10 servings

MIX
2 onions, chopped
4 cl garlic, chopped
1 c blanched almonds
1/2 c raisins
1/2 ts ground cloves
1/2 ts cinnamon
1/2 ts coriander seeds, ground
1/2 ts anise
2 Tb sesame seeds
3 sprigs fresh coriander
1 tortilla or piece of toast, cut up
1 lb (about 3 md) tomatoes [peeled, seeded, chopped]
6 ancho chiles
4 pasilla chiles
4 mulato chiles
LARD
3 Tb lard
ADD
2 c broth (turkey or pork
-- whatever meat is to be served with the sauce)
1 1/2 oz unsweetened chocolate squares
salt and pepper to taste
SPRINKLE
2 Tb sesame seeds

[NOTE: chiles should be prepared by removing the stem, seeds,
and veins,and then soaked for at least 1 hr in 2 c of cold
salted water w/ 1 Tb vinegar]

Blend mix in small batches to make a coarse puree. Heat lard in
a saucepan. Cook the puree in the hot lard, stirring constantly.

Add remaining ingredients. Stir over low heat until the
chocolate squares have melted. Sauce should be quite thick. Pour
sauce over meat in a casserole dish, and cook covered over the
lowest possible heat for thirty minutes. Just before serving,
sprinkle with 2 more Tb sesame seeds.

Serves 8-10 (with about 8 lbs of meat). M thinks this is kind of
generous.
